Our first president George Washington was in office from 1789 to 1797. The following is a list of some of my male adult ancestors who were living in the United States at that time.

John Meader (9th great grandfather) and his son John (8th great grandfather) who were living in New Hampshire.

John Fish (6th great grandfather) and his son Asa (5th great grandfather) who were living in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Hercules Young (6th great grandfather) and his son James (5th great grandfather) who were living in Western Pennsylvania.

David Archer (6th great grandfather) and his son Bezaleel Archer (5th great grandfather) who were living in Western New York.

Elisha Scribner (5th great grandfather) who was living in Eastern New York. # I have no definite proof this is correct other than he is the most logical choice that I have found for the Scribner line.

Samuel Edwards (4th great grandfather) who was living somewhere in New York.
