My gg-grandparents, Lars Gudbrandson Haselhaugen and Ragnhild Gudbrandsdatter Haselhaugen, met as young adults while he was working on the Haselhaugen farm which was part of the larger main farm of Hallingby. Lars was sent from his home farm of Bergsunlia to work with his uncle at the Haselhaugen farm when he was in his teens. I have the year he went as around 1836. Ragnhild was sent from her home, the Finneplassen farm, to be a house servant for the wealthier Hallingby family. When Lars uncle died he became the owner of the Haselhaugen farm but still a servant to the Hallingby family. Lars and Ragnhild were married in 1846. The map shows the location of the three farms. The Haselhaugen farm is part of the Hallingsby farm, the circle is the location of the Bergsunlia farm, and the number 1 is the location of the Finneplassen farm.
