Most likely my gg-grandfather Lorenzo Dow Weinhart was named after the minister/preacher Lorenzo Dow. Lorenzo Dow lived and preached during the early 19th century. During the mid-19th century thousands of American boys were named after him. The 1850 U.S. census lists Lorenzo as one of the most popular first names for males in America. Lorenzo's popularity can be seen in the fact that at one time his autobiography was the second-best selling book in the United States. Only the Bible sold more.  ¶ 9:43 AM
