Dyrdal is the name of the farm in Norway where my g-grandfather Sjur Markusson was born. Like many other farms in Norway there are several named Dyrdal which results in, as you can imagine, some confusion. My Dyrdal farm is actually known as indre (inner) Dyrdal. Next to it is the ytre (outer) Dyrdal farm. There is a third Dyrdal farm in Sogn og Fjordane in the kommune of Auland and is located on the Nærøy fjord.
