In August, 1957 a newspaper columnist interviewed my gg-grandfather Lorenzo Dow Weinhart. The occasion was a picnic being held at Recreation Park in Long Beach, California for all the people of the area who had ties to the state of Iowa. Evidently there was a very large turnout. The columnist was covering it because of it size hoping to find material for his column. While there he came across my gg-grandfather and started talking to him. At this time Lorenzo was 102.
